Effective altruism is an intellectual project, using evidence and reason to figure out how to benefit others as much as possible. And it’s also a practical project: to take action based on the research, and build a better world.

The Good Food Institute is an international nonprofit reimagining meat production. With more than 100 team members across our U.S. team and five affiliate offices, they’re building a world where alternative proteins are the default choice.
GFI exists to make the global food system better for the planet, people, and animals.

Developing the roadmap for a sustainable, secure, and just protein supply. They identify the most effective solutions, mobilize resources and talent, and empower partners across the food system to make alternative proteins accessible, affordable, and delicious.

Evidence Action was founded to address a big gap in the fight against global poverty – many of the most promising interventions are either implemented at a very small scale, or not at all. They set out to address this gap by implementing evidence-based and cost-effective interventions at scale, improving the lives of hundreds of millions of people.
In less than a decade, their two flagship programs, the Deworm the World Initiative and Dispensers for Safe Water, have grown incredibly – now reaching over 280 million people each year – by supporting governments to deworm and through our last-mile delivery network providing safe water access.
By 2024, Evidence Action seeks to double their impact by strengthening and expanding their existing programs, and working to identify and scale a new generation of interventions to reach millions more.
